The Benefits of Essiac Tea

A personal story of Herbal Discovery

Essiac Tea benefits

To say I am an advocate for Essiac Tea is something I am proud to share with you.

My journey to its discovery was difficult, emotional and painful. It’s a journey that perhaps some of you reading today have traveled or are still travelling.

In 2011 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. The treatment plan was grueling but we had no choice. I say “we” because when you have cancer it affects your family and close friends as well. You travel the journey together.

Treatment included: A Bowel Resection during which a colostomy was formed/6 months of chemotherapy/A Right lower lobe Lobectomy (removal of a lung lobe) and finally a colostomy reversal twelve months later. I feel exhausted just writing it!! As I recovered from each surgery I considered it a milestone and then tried to get myself as strong as possible for the next one. (Not easy while on chemotherapy). This was a two year adventure as we like to call it! It’s amazing how strong you can be if you have no choice! I was also fortunate and blessed to receive such love and support from family and friends to whom I will always be grateful.

I have now been Cancer free for 8 years!!

Forgive me, I felt that sentence deserved its own line. It’s such a wonderful feeling, I am truly grateful for my life.

Essiac Tea Health

Great news! But now a new journey was necessary .A journey to full wellness. A journey to gain strength and health maintenance. Fresh air, walking, exercise and swimming became my daily routine. Dear friends visited creating healthy culinary wonders and those of a more athletic nature arrived with fitness programs to shame all other programs!!! I felt like a project in progress with a determination to succeed! Thank you to all of you. x

Feeling stronger each week on the outside I started to explore ways to gain and maintain my internal health.

Essiac Discovery:

Travelling this new path to inner health I discovered the benefits of Essiac Tea:

Canadian nurse Rene Caisse (Essiac backwards) prepared her original Indian tea formula in 1922. Her life story and success with Essiac tea truly demonstrates her commitment to improving health for her patients.

Healthy Essiac Tea

Essiac Tea is a very unique blend of organically grown herbs namely:

Blessed Thistle

Burdock Root

Kelp

Red Clover

Sheep Sorrel

Slippery Elm Bark

Turkish Rhubarb Root

Watercress

These fresh herbs contain properties and benefits that include:

Detoxifying properties.

Regulation of our digestive tract

Antioxidant properties: Something we read a lot about these days! This benefit is very important to us. It helps our immune system remain healthy.

A balance between free radicals and antioxidants is necessary for proper physiological function. If free radicals overwhelm the body’s ability to regulate them, a condition known as oxidative stress ensues. Free radicals thus adversely alter lipids, proteins, and DNA and trigger a number of human diseases.

Essiac tea: scavenging of reactive oxygen species and effects on DNA damage.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health examined the antioxidant power of Essiac Tea in a 2006 study. The study found Essiac Tea protected DNA from free radical damage. This DNA-protective effect won’t repair damage that already led to cancer, but it could have a preventative effect with long-term use.

Essiac Tea is not a cure for disease but its many benefits and personal testimonials appear to offer a natural alternative for many of us seeking to improve and maintain our inner health.
